IPL (Indian Premier League) was started by Zee Telefilms Limited, which became known as Star Sports after several mergers and acquisitions during its early years. The IPL 2022 is the upcoming cricket tournament. It will be held in India and it will be played between April 14th, 2020 to March 29th, 2021. The ipl was formed by cricketers of 8 different countries who came together for a common cause which was to promote cricket as an international sport and make it more exciting than ever before.


According to reports, the season will be between March 26 and May 29, 2022, with MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) joining SRH, RCB, PBKS, and GT as group B in the IPL.


The league will feature eight teams, with the Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab, Gujarat Lions, and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) set to play in the eighth season of the Indian Premier League. The season will be between March 26 and May 29, 2022.



IPL Auction 2022

The 2022 Indian Premier League auction is scheduled to take place on February 13, 2022. The official site has not been made available yet, but the Indian Express reports that the base price for players will be Rs. 100 crore and there could be an additional Rs. 50 crore for players who make it to the final cut of 32.


This year's IPL auction yielded bumper prices for some of the bigger names in world cricket - Vir at Kohli ($2.22m fees), Rohit Sharma ($1.55m) and MS Dhoni - with the total ending up at $5,700,000 before their respective franchisees paid a 10% "market cost" to the IPL's governing council for over 30 per cent of the player base to make it through to auctions (players have also given Rs 20 lakh as a percentage cut but that amount does not count in these enormous final sums).


The IPL (Indian Premier League) has reduced the salary cap for franchises in its 11th edition to Rs 62.5 crore, compared to the last year's Rs 70-crore ceiling in 2022 with a 50% increase in matches from 16 this time and much better media revenue deal which will be shared by both broadcasters alike. There would still be one franchise each within Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai & Kolk ata for the first time in 2018, with Chennai & Kolkata being allocated two new teams since then.


Chennaiyin FC has been assigned an I-league franchise to begin play from 2019 and Kochi will be playing 2I-League games next season while also getting promoted into its 3rd IPL season.
